Located in the heart of Auckland’s Remuera, Kadimah School is a small school with a curriculum that encourages collaboration, critical thinking and an innovative mindset for students year 0 to year 8

What is Kadimah?

First and foremost we are a ‘family’. But, we are also an inclusive, co-educational primary school (Year 0 – 8) with a strong tradition of academic excellence and a focus on community values. Kadimah also offers a custom written STEAM curriculum, one of the few schools to do so at primary level.

We welcome children from all backgrounds. Our vision is to deliver an effective learning environment that produces well-educated, well-rounded and responsible graduates. Our goal is to deliver superior education to all students - because they deserve it.

Our values encompass social responsibility, tolerance, inquiry, community and family.

We punch above our weight. Our students regularly feature as finalists in National and International Competitions, including, most recently the Prime Ministers Award in 2021.

For our students, we want them to be independent learners, willing to question and engage in thoughtful debate. We want them to aspire to achieve beyond their expectations. We want to produce leaders who can stand up and make a difference. We want our students to be proud of their school and develop a strong and secure sense of identity and belonging.

Finally, we want our students to graduate from Kadimah with an excellent education and  be prepared for the next stages of life.

What we teach

The New Zealand Curriculum is the document from which all schools plan their teaching and learning. The Curriculum has been adapted by staff to suit the learners at Kadimah through the building of our local curriculum. Programmes are individualised, which means that within each class, children work at the appropriate level for them personally (for example, a child may be extended and work above their age and curriculum level if they are ready to do so).

Why you should consider Kadimah School for your child

In our most recent ERO report the review team stated:

“The school responds very well to all children whose learning and achievement needs acceleration, including children with special educational needs and those for whom English is an additional language.

Leaders and teachers use analysed achievement information well to promptly identify children who may need to accelerate their progress, from the time they start at the school. Teachers use this information to set acceleration goals, monitor children's progress, and give consideration to next learning steps. They work together to consider strategies that may better support individual children's learning progress. Teachers are increasingly focused on evaluating their teaching practices to further improve outcomes for their students.”

What our parents are saying

  • “My middle child was very anxious and negative about starting school. She settled better than I could ever have imagined under the care of the junior teachers. She is happy, confident and learning so much.”

    — R. Gluckman

  • “As a computer science engineer, I was eager to find a school with a strong focus on technology for my girls. Kadimah is the one! The STEAM program is stimulating, future-focused learning, and will set them up with key skills for life.”

    — A. Shenkin

  • “There are many things to love about Kadimah: committed long-term teaching staff, smaller classes, an emphasis on academic support and leadership, celebration of success, an ethnic makeup that reflects the diversity of Aotearoa".
